Swimming and Playing at the Recreation Lake
Recreation park De Achterste Hoef features a large recreation lake (approx. 2.7 hectares) with a water slide, diving platform, a spacious beach, a grassy sunbathing area, and numerous play equipment. Here, both young and old can enjoy a whole day of fun and swimming. For the younger swimmers, there is a floatation line at a depth of 80 cm. Beyond this line, the maximum depth is 9 meters. At a depth of 7 meters, there is a diving platform, which is only allowed to be used for diving instruction during PADI diving courses.
Water Quality
Due to the high natural acidity, no fish swim in the lake, and algae formation is minimal or nonexistent. We are very vigilant about the water quality of our recreation lake. This means that during the swimming season, from May 1 to October 1, the water is tested for bacteria every two weeks. This testing is done independently by the Water Authorities. Camping by the Water
Around the recreation lake, you'll find both private sanitary and non-private sanitary camping pitches, perfect for a lovely camping experience. Book your favorite spot by the water today. The camping pitches around the lake are suitable for tents, caravans, and campers. Pitches with private sanitary facilities have 10-amp electricity. Dogs are not allowed around the lake! However, dogs are allowed on the rest of the campsite.
